In its second year of operation, Cowboys Stadium will host Super Bowl XLV on February 6th, 2010, beating out several major cities for the bid. In addition to being the home of the Dallas Cowboys, the mega-stadium has hosted international soccer matches, music concerts, rodeos, and more. Last year’s Super Bowl set records with a television audience of 106.5 million people in America alone. The spotlight will certainly be on Arlington, Texas when the NFL puts on Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in 2011.

The Super Bowl will feature two outstanding offenses, led by quarterbacks Peyton Manning (Colts) and Drew Brees (Saints). For good reason, both teams have been public favorites throughout the year so it’ll be interesting to see how the line moves over the next two weeks.

A five-year naming rights agreement with Toronto-based Sun Life Financial was confirmed. The deal is for at least $4 million a year and perhaps more, depending on postseason success for the Dolphins and Florida Marlins, the stadium's baseball tenant through next year.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium, which is host to this Super Bowl XLV (45) and the 2011 Pro Bowl, also has 2 massive High Definition TV monitors at either end of the stadium and a High Definition media strip lining the entire inside of the stadium.

Sun Life Stadium, formerly known as Land Shark Stadium, Joe Robbie Stadium, Pro Player Park, Pro Player Stadium, Dolphins Stadium and Dolphin Stadium, is located one mile south of the Dade-Broward county line and sits on a 160-acre site. It is 16 miles northwest of downtown Miami and 18 miles south of Ft. Lauderdale.

Sun Life Stadium prides itself on the prescription Athletic Turf (natural grass) making up the playing surface. It was designed with mechanical drainage capability and provides a firm playing surface within 30 minutes of a 1" per hour of rain.
